About this event
One of the most important duties of Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s Office is to protect Ohio families. Unfortunately, families across the state continue to be affected by scam artists and cons. Every year, the Attorney General’s Office receives thousands of complaints from consumers who have been defrauded.
In an effort to help communities fight back against financial predators, the Attorney General’s Office is hosting a community fraud forum on April 9th from 1:00p.m.—5:00p.m. at Tiffin University, Gillmor Student Center, Osceola Theatre (155 Miami Street, Tiffin, OH 44883). I encourage you to come and share your concerns and experiences with financial issues and scams, and learn about programs and services offered by our office.
Experts from the Attorney General’s Office will discuss how we can protect consumers—especially senior citizens—from financial fraud and scams. Law enforcement officials are encouraged to attend and discuss how our offices can collaborate to investigate and prosecute consumer fraud. One-hour of continuing education credit (CEU) will be available for social workers.
In addition, the following community partners will be on-hand to provide informational tables and share valuable consumer resources with attendees; Apprisen Financial, Ohio Dept. of Commerce, Ohio Dept. of Insurance, Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, and the Treasurer of State.
If you are interested in attending this event, please RSVP at: www.OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov/CommunityForum by Friday, April 4th. Please also share this invitation with your friends and family.
Sincerely,
Melissa S. Szozda
