·         Governor John R. Kasich and Lt. Governor Mary Taylor were sworn in as governor and lieutenant governor of the state of Ohio at midnight in the Senate Chambers in the Ohio Statehouse (Franklin Co.).

·         Kasich announced a reappointment to the Commission on Minority Health. Read more here.
 
Tuesday, January 13, 2015
·         Kasich joined Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co. Ltd. Chairman and Founder Cao Dewang, JobsOhio President/CIO John Minor and Consulate General for the People’s Republic of China Zhang Qiyue at the Ohio Statehouse to provide an update on Fuyao’s automotive glass manufacturing plant in Moraine (Montgomery Co.), and announce a new Fuyao project that will result in an additional 750 new jobs and $130 million in new investment.

·         Kasich appointed 18 members to the Ohio Task Force on Community-Police Relations, which was created after a series of incidents in Ohio and around the nation highlighted the challenging situations that exist in too many places between communities and police. Read more here.

·         Kasich joined Ohio House Majority Leader Fred Strahorn, Representative Teresa Fedor and other officials to deliver remarks at the sixth annual Human Trafficking Awareness Day at the Ohio Statehouse.
·         Taylor joined Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Director Tracy Plouck, Ohio Department of Aging Director Bonnie K. Burman, and Ohio Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Andrew Doehrel to celebrate the one year anniversary of Start Talking! and announce the launch of Start Talking! BIZ – a program designed to help job creators create drug-free workplaces.
·         Kasich announced appointments to the JobsOhio Board of Directors and the Ohio Public Defender Commission. Read more here.
