Energy and Commerce Committee to Mark Up Latta’s Drinking Water Protection Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Energy and Commerce Committee has scheduled a full committee markup of H.R. 212, the Drinking Water Protection Act, sponsored by Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH). The markup, which will be held Thursday, February 12, at 10 a.m., can be watched online.
Latta introduced the Drinking Water Protection Act to help protect drinking water from harmful cyanotoxins, which caused a water emergency in Northwest Ohio last August. The bipartisan bill requires the Environmental Protection Agency to develop and submit a strategic plan to Congress for assessing and managing the risks associated with cyanotoxins in drinking water.
The Majority Memorandum, copies of the legislation, amendments and votes will be available here as they are posted.
