CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Gov. John Kasich called for a swift, collaborative response to recommendations laid out by a task force charged with improving relations between communities and their police departments.
Statewide police standards on the use of deadly force and recruiting and hiring practices will be established within 90 days, and action on the task force's other recommendations will follow, Kasich said Monday during a press conference at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center.
"This is about an extremely serious problem, that everyone has to understand has to be resolved," Kasich said. "We don't have time for politics in this."
