What They’re Saying: Lifting All Ohioans
By enrolling all of Ohio’s children in foster care in Medicaid managed care, the budget assures the best possible care for our children, who, through no fault of their own, have experienced trauma, grief and loss and may have multiple physical and/or mental health care needs.  Ohio continues to show the nation that compassion for all of our children, combined with providing the critical resources necessary, is simply the right thing to do.”
Dave Thomas Foundation for AdoptionRita Soronen, President and CEO

“…  The financial and I.T. resources made possible through the budget and the Adult Protective Services Funding Work Group will enable Lucas County to improve the quality and efficiency of services when assisting older Ohioans in need.
Lucas County Department of Job and Family ServicesSophia Lloyd, Director

As a county agency, we often see parents or guardians who are left with minimal options and in a position where they must leave their children in questionable child care situations just so they can make ends meet. This provision allows ODJFS to take swift action when children have been placed in harm’s way. By placing this provision in the budget, the administration is allowing ODJFS, through each county, to provide a safe, healthy environment for children. That is always our number one priority: the health, safety and well-being of children.
Hamilton County Department of Job and Family ServicesMoira Weir, Director

By maintaining the Residential State Supplement funding, the Administration will literally save lives. With these revenues, the quality of care of these homes will be enhanced and over 5,000 residents that we represent will have an improved quality of life….Again, on behalf of those citizens of this state needing the highest level of mental health care- thank you for working with us!

“Person-centered case management must be at the heart of any serious effort to reduce reliance on public assistance. We strongly support the goal of addressing poverty through work and applaud Governor Kasich’s efforts to break down silos while simplifying and streamlining services through his budget initiatives creating the Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program. We know that the best chance most individuals trapped in poverty will have to improve their economic status is through employment.”
