Oscar Nominated Film, ‘Joy,’ Tells A Story of Family, Loyalty, and Love at the Marion Palace

The historic Marion Palace Theatre will present the comedy/drama film, ‘Joy,’ starring Oscar Nominated Best Actress Jennifer Lawrence on January 29, 30 and 31.

‘Joy’ is the wild story of a family across four generations. It centers on a girl who grows up and builds a business dynasty, becoming a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence, and the scars of love pave the road in this intensely emotional human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise while facing a world of unforgiving commerce. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family. Watch as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces. ~Adapted from 20th Century Fox

Jennifer Lawrence stars, with Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd, Virginia Madsen, Elisabeth Röhm and Dascha Polanco.

‘Joy’ is rated PG-13 for brief strong language. Run time 124 minutes. Show times are:

Friday, January 29 at 7:30pm
Saturday, January 30 at 2pm and 7:30pm
Sunday, January 31 at 2pm and 7:30pm

Concessions are available and are reasonably priced. Items available for purchase include candy bars for $1 each and 20 oz. Pepsi products, popcorn and boxed theatre candy for $2 each.
