Local Youth Star in the Junior Production of “Charlotte’s Web” at the Marion Palace Theatre

Marion, OH – January 25, 2016 – Generations of readers have fallen in love with Wilbur the pig and his wise arachnid friend, Charlotte, in the storybook “Charlotte’s Web.” Now, the Marion Palace Theatre is set to delight theatergoers of all ages by bringing this beautiful story to life on stage.

Featuring a talented cast of 29 local youth, the theatre proudly presents its first Junior Stage Play for three performances:

Friday, February 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m. 
Sunday, February 21 at 2 p.m.

This beloved children’s classic, spins the tale of a clever spider, Charlotte, and her friend Wilbur, who happens to be a pig. This play brings to life the friendships of Charlotte, her animal friends, and the young girl Fern. Using teamwork, the animals come together to save Wilbur and make him “some pig” indeed.

Cast in this enchanting production are: Kylie Klaiber as Fern, Owen Russell as Mr. Arable, Anna Songer as Mrs. Arable, Hudson Russell as Avery, Andrew Burks as Mr. Zuckerman & Uncle, Clare Stevenson as Mrs. Zuckerman, Cooper Titus as Lurvy, Liam Honey as Wilbur, Jia Radloff as Templeton, Delaney Tabbert as Charlotte, Gabby Cametti as Goose, Ashley Watkins as Gander, Macie Snyder as Sheep & Announcer, Ivy Russell as Lamb, Mateusz Lisiecki as the Reporter, Alexander Lisiecki as the Photographer. Cast as Narrators are Abby Isler, Brooklynn Short and Clara Bruestle. Fairgoers are Madelyn Cheney, Morgan Elliott, Gabby Garrett, Brady Keller, Kylee Parsell, Emily Ratliff and Regan Stanley. Rounding out the cast are three Baby Spiders-Reagan Fitsko, Shannon Morey and Rayne Pelfrey.

Palace Theatre Executive Director Bev Ford is excited “Charlotte’s Web” will be the theatre’s first Junior Stage Play to be performed on the historic main stage.

“We are giving local kids the opportunity to explore the performing arts and develop social skills which go well beyond the stage. This opportunity hits right at the heart of our mission: to foster appreciation, education and participation in the arts. And it does it for the next generation, which is an exciting bonus,” she shared.

“Charlotte’s Web” will be directed by Emily Yaksic who is making her Palace directorial debut in this beautiful and meaningful play about friendship. Yaksic, an Ohio Wesleyan University Theatre Education Graduate, currently teaches drama in Columbus City Schools.

Yaksic has assembled a "terrific" Artistic Team which includes members: John Baldauf - Set Design, Baldauf Construction - Set Construction, Danielle Knight and Sara Grote - Costume Design, Barb Yaksic - Stage Manager, Rhonda Arnold - Assistant Stage Manager and college intern Hannah Grace who is assisting the Director.

Reserved tickets are priced at $18 for adults and $12 for children age 13 and younger. Discounts are available for groups of 20 or more. Patrons are encouraged to order tickets early for the best seating.
