OPEN DOOR RESOURCE CENTER TO SPONSOR SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE
Open Door Resource Center is sponsoring a school supply drive for local students again this year. Supplies collected during this drive will then be distributed to parents on August 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Open Door located at 212 W Wyandot Ave.
In addition to necessities like scissors, crayons, markers and glue; Open Door Executive Director Kris Joseph particularly wishes to encourage donors to think about giving “backpacks and Trapper Keeper style binder notebooks.” Often parents struggle to afford these items which can be expensive especially when they have multiple children.
Community members who wish to donate may drop off items at Open Door in advance of August 9th. Additionally, cash donations will be accepted for people who wish to benefit the drive but do not have the time or desire to shop for items.
