The Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) has once again chosen Wyandot County as part of the adventurous path. On June 20, 2017, approximately 1,500 bicycle riders and all their support staff will be coming into Wyandot County from Tiffin. Carey has been chosen as a lunch stop and Upper Sandusky is the overnight stop.

The Fairgrounds will be utilized for the giant sleep-over. Entertainment will be provided by the Wyandot County Young Professionals who will introduce GOBA crew to a mini  Wyanstock . We are still seeking additional non-profit organizations to provide support services for the riders and their support staff.

There will be a meeting on Monday, May 1, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. Upper Sandusky Library’s board room where we invite 4-H clubs, scouting units, and those needing community service hours to hear about what valuable and money-making services need to be provided

We are also looking for participation from local entities that may have transportation services (i.e.) church buses, nursing home transportation vehicles, etc. to operate bus routes from approximately 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on June 20th. We are aiming to run two routes from the Fairgrounds to the Shawshank Museum via west side restaurants and one from the Fairgrounds to Walmart via downtown and back.

The coming of GOBA will allow all of Wyandot County to display why it is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. The county has some of the best schools in Ohio and some of the best areas in the state to live and retire.

There will be limited space at the Fairgrounds to provide services such as food, luggage handling, assistance with sleeping accommodations, and information services. Note: we will help feed GOBA riders both on June 20th and on the morning of June 21st before they take off to their next destination – Bellefontaine. The transportation will allow providers to “sell” the benefits of their facilities. It also allows the riders to visit areas of the city to shop and become involved in tourist activities.

Become involved with one of the greatest ways to show off our city and county. Come to the organizational meeting on Monday, May 1, 2017, in the board room of the Upper Sandusky Community Library at 7:00 p.m.
